My name is Terry Howell, and I live in beautiful Coos Bay, Oregon. I’m a husband and dad first—I’ve got a wonderful wife and four awesome kids who keep life fun and busy.
By day, I’m a Principal Engineer as isolved, and I genuinely enjoy building things on the web. I love solving problems with code, especially on the back end, where I get to work with technologies like PHP, ASP.NET, and ColdFusion. I’ve also built plenty of front-end experiences using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap, and I’ve created sites with WordPress and Joomla.
Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from simple WordPress sites to more complex, custom solutions—like multi-language product sites with custom plugins, shortcodes, and tailored themes. I like taking bulky or complicated systems and making them easier and more intuitive to use.
I also enjoy experimenting with Android development. I’ve built apps like:
- an inventory app that connects to Bluetooth scanners in SPP mode, and
- a referee app designed to turn a bulky website into a clean, easy-to-use mobile experience.
